Swelly is a free VST plugin created solely by Billy Wesmond. It uses unique electric guitar samples to create a slightly ambient, pad-like sound. It works great for chords, especially with wide open voicings. You can also create more synth-like sci-fi sounds by adjusting the pitch LFO knobs, or atmospheric soundscapes by combining It with extra reverb/delay plugins and experimenting.
LAYERS There are 3 distinct layers of samples in Swelly (fuzzy, windy, simply), and volume controls for each one. Every layer gives you a slightly different color of sound. ”Simply” is turned up by default. When the other layers are added on top of simply, they act like subtle effects. Fuzzy ads a grittier tone, windy ads an atmospheric reverse effect.
This plugin is completely free, however if you want to make a donation and contribute to the making of the next VST, you can grab something from the Billy Wesmond discography on
Soon there will be a donations option on this page as well.
